Illustrators

As an artist and a problem-solver, the illustrator uses a variety of media, from traditional painting techniques to state-of-the-art electronics to enhance and communicate ideas. The illustrator creates images that can seet the mood for an entire brochure, reinforce the message of a headline, or succinctly convey the theme of an article.

A good illustrator is skilled in his/her art, knowledgeable in the fields of design and printing, and capable of meeting the client's needs. As part of the creative team, working with art directors, writers and printers, an illustrator contributes his/her ideas and personal style to convey a message to a specific audience.

There are as many styles of illustration as there are illustrators. Ranging from subtle to forceful, humorous to serious, and realistic to abstract, illustration can convey thoughts and ideas in a way uniquely different from text or photography.
