Special Printing Needs and Requirements
If you request a cost estimate from a printer prior to the completion of the actual project, remember it is a "guesstimate"an approximate
cost based on the specifications you provided. You should ask for a "live revise" when the printer receives the final art or disk.
When submitting disks for output, you should always complete the printer's Electronic Art Form and supply the same size laser proofs with color-break notations.
For special mix inks, ask for an ink draw down on the actual stock to be used on your project.
For a special binding or finishing treatment, or if there is anything unique or unusual about your project, ask for a dummy or special blueline showing such things as die-cut locations, or trims, or a match print to show actual color.
Specify delivery method and a timeline for shipping since it is critical
to the schedule and cost of your project.
It is wise to discuss any major additional costs in advance of a project to avoid any surprises or reductions to your budget.
