Typical Printing Schedule

A typical schedule for a 16-page brochure, self-cover, 5-colors, 10,000 copies might be as follows:

2 days: Cost estimate and time frame discussions with printing representatives.

2 days: Review color comps and present to printing representative for final estimate.

4 days: If available, photos may be sent in for advance color separations to random proofs.

3-5 days: Final disk to printer for film output and blueline or color proofs.

2 days: Release blueline for first day on press (or press inspection). Add more time if corrections need to be made.

1-3 days: Finish printing.

2-3 days: Trim, score, fold and/or bind and deliver.

2 weeks later: Billing.
