Board President Responsibilities
The President shall be (1) an Art Director and (2) limited to two consecutive terms of office, and (3) have served as an officer or board member for at least one year prior to election.

  • Establishes goals and an agenda for the Club
  • Presides over monthly Board meetings, twice yearly Board Retreats, and Annual Meeting
  • Monitors Committee Chairs
  • Appoints and monitors Nominating Committee
  • Sets and monitors annual budget in consultation with Treasurer and Executive Director
  • Performs ceremonial duties, i.e., makes introductions/announcements at events
  • Responds to membership concerns that cannot be handled by Committee Chairs
  • Supervises Executive Director
  • Engages and briefs Legal Council as necessary
  • Communicates to members via a President's column in HalfBleed, writes annual report for Annual Show catalog, etc.
  • Reviews contracts, i.e., club insurance policies, club management contract, tax returns
  • Interviews and hires new club management when necessary, in consultation with an ad-hoc hiring committee
