This is your chance to talk one-on-one with designers who can prime your portfolio to be even more spectacular. (Seriously!)
Get up, and get real!
After a long week cranking out work for classes, you want to sleep in on Saturday. But not on this one. The ADCMW’s Career day is your chance to talk one-on-one with design professionals who can help you get your portfolio in amazing shape, answer questions Google can't seem to, and prepare you for the reality of the big sell: you and your work. Who knows, you may even sell yourself that day!
This is going to be an amazing day. First, we're hooking you up with talented professionals who care about your future. You'll have the opportunity to talk with at least three professionals through the day, network with other designers, and participate in round table discussions like:
- Interviewing do's and don't's
- What you should know about printing, asap
- Agency, freelance, in-house, or studio?
- What should I expect when I start working?
Real topics, real discussion. Tables are limited, so sign up when you check in!
In between sessions, check out the winners of the Real Show in the on-site Gallery. A special reception will be held during the day, giving out awards.
Next, we've picked a beautiful, comfortable location. The team at American Eye, an interior design showroom in the DC Design Center, is generously donating their space for the day. Featured in Elle Decor, this showroom is perfect for us: comfortable sofas and chairs (no cafeteria tables here), copious table space, and great lighting.
Finally, we've made it super easy to get there. American Eye is located at 300 D Street, SW, Suite 511. Lots of on-street parking, and the Federal Center SW Metro is on the Orange and Blue lines and right at the building. Oh, there's a Starbucks on site, as well as several places to grab a bite.
Seriously, This is your chance to shine. Rise to meet the challenge!
NOTE: If you require assistance compliant with ADA regulations, your request must be received by Friday, April 13. Please email your requirement to adcmw@adcmw.org.
