The Marketing Coordinator supports all advertising, promotional and partnership activities of the Clarice Smith Performing Art Center’s Marketing & Communication Department in the areas of print, online, broadcast and direct mail media.  This position is responsible for a wide range of projects, all with the goal of supporting the Center’s mission while meeting earned revenue goals.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Advertising/Media Buying
Create, execute and monitor the Center’s advertising plan
• Create the ad plan, determining where to place ads, and the run frequency
• Negotiate a competitive ad buy that is fiscally beneficial to the Center
• Write and edit ad copy, tailored towards the appropriate outlet
• Analyze efficiency of ongoing ad plan, updating as necessary
• Negotiate program book ad trades
• Negotiate list trades
• Analyze completed ad runs
• Pay ad invoices
 
Project Management/Traffic
Serve as a contact for program books and collateral produced by the Center, monitoring scheduling and content acquisition among the Center’s resident units, publications office and design partners
• Create and maintain master document
• Create and enforce deadlines for master document updates and print production
• Synthesize edits from stakeholders
• Track and monitor what has been updated and send to designated staff members for review using a project management tool (Basecamp)
• Liaise between graduate assistants and faculty/staff
• Liaise between Center and external design partners
 
Grassroots Marketing
With the assistance of an undergraduate student assistant, raise the profile of the Center via interesting, thought-provoking grassroots marketing campaigns
• Work with the Cultural Participation department to identify and support community engagement opportunities
 
Relationship Management
Cultivate productive, lasting relationships within the Center, with campus partners and with media representatives
• Negotiate and leverage partnerships with media
• Present information about the Center at campus and community events
Data Management
• Pull lists from ticketing system (AudienceView) for mailings
• Coordinate with Working Funds to process all check requests payable to the U.S. Postal Service
• Work with campus mailing and data services departments to plan and implement on-campus mailings (individual drops and bulk drops)
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in marketing, communications, performing arts or comparable field
Three years of professional experience in marketing
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Project management skills
Supervisory experience
Advertising buying experience
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Available to work evenings and weekends
 
Preferred:
Familiarity with the performing arts (music, dance, theatre)
Familiarity with ticketing databases/customer relationship management systems (preferably AudienceView)
Familiarity with project management tool (preferably Basecamp)
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
 
Salary: Low to Mid-40s
